Description
Antioxidant E219 also known as Sodium methyl p-hydroxybenzoate is a synthetic ethyl ester of benzoic acid. It occurs naturally in mushrooms, cinnamon, cloves and some dairy products (as a result of bacterial fermentation). It is used as a preservative in food against both yeasts and fungi.
