Description
Butterfly pea flower tea is an herbal drink made from dried butterfly pea flowers steeped in water. Traditionally, the Butterfly Pea plant and tea made from it have been used to treat general pain, reduce inflammation, help with common eye issues like conjunctivitis, fight against certain types of cancers, induce brain health, and “increase vitality.” It is preferred to brew this magic beverage in a teapot rather than in metal. Further, dieticians and experts recommend that the hot cup of blue tea should be had at least an hour prior to meals. It can also be had one hour post the consumption of a full meal. The most amazing characteristic of this tea is the change of color which follows with the change in pH. Just a drop of lemon chnages the color of this blue tea to sweet purple. One interesting fact about this herbal tea is that unlike other teas, this tea does not originate from the plant of Camelia sinesis.
