Description
Dairy whiteners are white liquid or granular substances considered as a substitute for milk or cream. A dairy whitener is prepared by spray drying of cow/buffalo milk or a mixture of both. It has added sugar in it. The liquid is removed from the milk during processing and a certain quantity of sugar is added so that it can be readily used for tea or coffee making.
Is dairy whitener and milk powder the same?
Dairy whitener is usually confused with milk powder, however the two are different. A dairy whitener is produced by evaporating the milk content into dryness whereas a milk powder is made by extracting the liquid from the cow’s milk.
