Description
Dietary wheat fiber is an isolated dietary fiber obtained from the bran of the wheat grain. The main fiber present in wheat bran is arabinoxylan (70%), a type of hemicellulose. The rest is made up of cellulose. As a dietary supplement, it is off-white dietary fiber concentrate obtained from the wheat plant. It is used to enhance the dietary fiber content of food products. Wheat fiber are mostly insoluble, passing through the digestive system and adding bulk to stool. Wheat also contains small amounts of soluble fibers that may cause digestive issues in people with irritable bowel syndrome.
