When buying dried lavender buds in sealed form, check for their expiration date on the packaging. Also, make sure they are completely dried with no hint of moisture.

Description
Dried lavender buds are tiny parts of the lavender flower. When lavender flowers are cut for drying, unopened buds tend to fall from flower spikes. A lavender bunch can be hanged upside down in a dark place to dry for 10 to 14 days to dry. When its spikes dry, lavender buds can be separated from the flower heads. Dried lavender buds are about one inch long and blue-purple in color with a grayish tint.
