Description
Moong dal (lentil), also known as “ Cheru Payaru Parippu “, in Malayalam. It is usually the split and dehusked green gram. This can be prepared very easily at home. The very first thing to do is to soak the moong dal in water for at least 3-4 hours so that it turns soft. Once it turns soft, drain the water completely and transfer it to a non stick pan sprayed with some cooking oil. Now add in the soaked moong dal to the pan and sprinkle some salt. Roast it on a medium flame stirring occasionally, until the water evaporates from the dal and it starts to become crispy. As the dal turns crisp, remove it from the heat. It can also be roasted in the oven.
