Ghost chilli is an interspecific hybrid chili pepper ( Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens).It is confirmed as the hottest pepper on earth by Guinness Book of World Records in 2007. Ghost Chilli Dried Pods are the sun-dried or oven-dried pods of ghost chillies, originally discovered in the Assam region of India. They are hot and have greater aromatic complexity than their fresh counterpart.The pods have their characteristic shape and very thin red skin. They turn rusty-red and crisp once dried with a shriveled and grooved exterior. They are known for their incredible spice level and flavour it adds to dishes.

Selection Guide

Go for firm ghost peppers to dry at home. Look out for rotten peppers or the ones that have mushy or discolored spots. When buying ghost chillies dried pods in packaged form, make sure they are completely dried with no evidence of moisture in packaging.
