Description
Ginseng is the root of a plant that is typically found in North America and certain cooler areas of Asia. The light cream colored, fleshy root is the most medicinally valuable part of the plant and it can be purchased in dried, whole, or sliced form. Its skin is rough, knobby, earth-stained and scarred, the scars specify the age of the root. It is available from early fall through mid-winter.
