Glidant (INS572)

Also Known As : Magnesium stearate, calcium stearate

Description

Glidant (INS572) is a cheical compound prepared synthetically from Stearic acid (E570). It is produced by the reaction of sodium stearate with magnesium salts or by treating magnesium oxide with stearic acid. It is used as a glidant, added to a powder to improve its flowability. Also it is used as an anti-caking agent and emulsifier in food products.
