Description
Gokshur is a tap rooted herbaceous, annual plant in the caltrop family, Zygophyllaceae native to warm temperate and tropical regions in southern Eurasia, North America, Africa and Australia. Its stem grows around 10 cm in diameter forming flat patches with hairy stem branches. The leaves of the plant are pinnately compound with around 3 mm long leaflets. Its fruits are five-angled, globose and hairy with two short and two long spines. It is one of the popular ayurvedic herb, used as a medicinal supplement.
