Description
Kansar is a sweet dessert from Gujarat, India. It is made up of ingredients like whole wheat flour or broken wheat, sugar powder and clarified butter. To make kansar at home, combine whole wheat flour with half cup of canola oil and crumble as for short crust. Melt jaggery powder in water and bring it to a boil. When jaggery syrup starts boiling, whisk in crumbled flour and keep stirring and cooking until syrup is absorbed. This must be done on the lowest possible flame. When all syrup is absorbed, mix in cardamom powder and 2 more tablespoon of canola oil, cover and cook on low flame for 2 more minutes. Garnish with sliced cashews and serve hot.
