Description
Kapok Buds are a type of caper. They are the dried buds of the Kapok tree or the Silk Cotton tree. It is basically the unopened flower buds of the kapok tree. It is dark brown in color. Kapok bud is not eaten raw, but it is always roasted and ground with other spices before adding to a dish. It is used in South India specially in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is used in Chettinad cuisine.
