Description
Kefir is a fermented milk drink same as yogurt. Kefir is bascially made up of gelatinous yellow and white particles called “grains.” These grains contain the yeast/bacteria mixture clumped together with casein (milk proteins) and complex sugars. It can be made from any type of milk, cow, goat or sheep, coconut, rice or soy. Kefir look like pieces of coral and range from the size of a grain of wheat to that of a hazelnut. Kefir has its origins in the Caucasus Mountains of Russia. It can smell like contemporary yeast.
