Taste Profile

It has a spicy taste.

Description

Samosa is basically a fried or baked pastry with a savory filling, such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas, cheese and even lentils. It may take different forms, including triangular, cone, or half-moon shapes, depending on the region. Samosa is one of the most commonly eaten snack across India. They are hugely popular and are loved by everyone. An all time favorite tea time snack, samosa can also be prepared for a snack party with friends and family during special occasions or festival season. A typical samosa contains refined flour, the biggest carbohydrate culprit in your diet. Secondly, most samosas contain potato fillings. Not that potatoes can harm you but when they are fried with excess butter, salt, refined flour, they are also not the healthiest carb possible. One of the most interesting thing about samosa is that, it does not originate from India at all but was brought to Central Asia and India centuries ago by Egyptian and Libyan commercial travellers.
