Description
Rum is a liquor made by fermenting then distilling sugarcane juice. Light rum is generally less aged, smoother in its intensity, and at the very least does not contain dark syrups to alter its appearance and flavor. Light rums are sometimes filtered after aging to remove any colour. Their milder flavors make them popular for use in mixed drinks, as opposed to drinking them straight. The majority of white rums are produced in Puerto Rico. White rum is also sold in many flavored forms, especially made popular by Bacardi. Light rums are also considered be cheaper to make and less expensive to purchase that more mature rums. Some of the most popularly consumed light rums include; Bacardi Superior, Don Q Cristal, Cruzan Estate Light, Oronoco, Mount Gay Silver, Matusalem Plantino, Rubi Rey, 10 Cane etc.
