Milk chocolate is a variety of chocolate which is made by adding together chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, sugar, flavorings, and sweetened condensed or powdered whole milk. At first, the sugar and milk are blended, then they're combined with chocolate liquor and flavorings and dried to form "milk chocolate crumb." Thereafter, cocoa butter is mixed with the crumb, and the mixture is sent processed which results in milk chocolate. In 1879, a Swiss chocolate manufacturer named Daniel Peter combined powdered milk with chocolate liquor milk chocolate was born. The quality of milk chocolate changes from brand to brand. Milk chocolate must contain dairy and it's usually done by adding dry milk solids (like powdered milk) to the chocolate. Usually, milk chocolate contains around 55 percent sugar and 20 percent cocoa butter. It also melts easily, which is great for making chocolate based desserts.
