Description
Orange blossoms are harvested from two main varieties of the Rutaceae family: sweet-flavored Citrus sinensis and bitter flavored Citrus aurantium. Orange blossoms belong to the range of edible flowers but they are rarely eaten on their own. It is rather distilled into essential oil and aromatized water for consumption. Blossoms that are obtained from the Bitter Orange tree are more aromatic as compared to those of sweet orange.
