Usage Tips

  1. It can be used to make herbal tea along with some honey and sliced lemon.
  2. It is used as a spice in Indian curries and Chinese cuisines.
  3. It is typically used in powder form with equal mix of ginger powder, jaggery and water to help with the gastric troubles and joint pains.
  4. It can be used to make immune booster drinks my cooking it with bajra atta, jiggery, cloves, carom seeds and cinnamon powder in water.
  5. It can be added to saunth and flaxseed pak along with some dried fruits and ginger. This is usally eaten to treat menstrual cramps.
  6. Peepramul powder is often pickled in vinegar or sherry and used in snacks
  7. It should be stored in air tight containers to prevent spoilage.

Description

Peepramul is also known as ganthoda not the same as sonth (dry ginger) though. Peepramul powder is derived from a rhizoid which is similar to ginger root.

Selection Guide

Before buying the powder make sure that it is free from dust, dirt, and debris and stones. Check the expiry date as well.
