Description

Roasted chana flour is prepared by dry roasting chana dal and then grinding it into a fine powder. It may also contain other dry roasted and ground pulses and cereals like cashew, almonds, millets, and barley. It is prepared using an ancient process that is widely popular in North India, particularly Bihar. It involves the use of an iron vessel in which the grains or grams are roasted in the sand and then sieved and ground into flour. It may look slightly coarser than besan. It is widely popular in North Indian cuisines. It can be mixed with whole wheat flour to make it more nutritious.
