Usage Tips

  1. Split Pulse Urd (Urad Dal)Flour can be stored in an airtight container for upto six months.
  2. It can be used to prepare South Indian snacks such as dosa, idli and uttapam. It can be used for making murukku, seedai, papad and many indian snacks.
  3. It can be combined with wheat flour to make chapatis, puris and pranthas as well.

Description

  Split Pulse Urd (Urad Dal)Flour is prepared by grinding dried, split black gram pulse(after removing testa or the seed coat) into a fine, pale-white powder. It is widely popular for preparing South Indian dishes and can also be used as a thickener in soups, curries and gravies.

Selection Guide

Look for a finely-powdered, free flowing urad dal flour. Also look out for any discoloration and lumpiness.
