Description

Sauce is a liquid or semi-liquid edible dressing or condiment which is served as an accompaniment to or an ingredient in meat, dessert, or other food: pizza sauce, steak sauce, cranberry sauce, chocolate sauce, etc. It can be eaten with food to add flavour. It provides flavour, moisture, and a contrast in texture and colour. The varieties of sauces include Hot sauces, BBQ sauce, Tomato sauces, Fish sauces, Butter sauces, Emulsified sauces, Brown sauces, Sweet sauces, White sauces etc. Sauces which are used for salad are called salad dressing. Sauces which are made by deglazing a pan are called pan sauces. It is essential in cuisines all over the world.
