Sodium Saccharine is a zero-calorie, artificial sweetener which is about 300–400 times as sweet as sucrose, made through the oxidation of chemicals. It is in the form of heat-stable, white, crystalline powder, often used as a sugar substitute in processed foods. It is not water-soluble in its acid form. Its form used as an artificial sweetener is usually its sodium salt.It has no food energy and no nutritional value.
