Usage Tips

  1. Soya flour is best when toasted slightly before adding to a recipe.
  2. It can be used coarsely powdered as a thickening agent in gravies and sauces, or it can also be added, finely powdered, to baked goods.
  3. Soya flour is used to make fudge and other candies, pies, doughnuts, cakes, pasta, pancake mixes and frozen desserts.
  4. It can be stored in refrigerator for several months or in the freezer for up to a year.

Description

Soya flour is basically made by grinding roasted soybeans into powder. It is added to wheat flour when making baked goods to boost the protein level of some products. There are two kinds of soy flour. The first is natural or full-fat soy flour. this contains natural oils that are found in soybean. Second is defatted soy flour, that has all the oils removed during processing. It adds a pleasant texture and flavour to foods.
