Usage Tips

  1. Soyabean chunks can be stored in an airtight container for upto 12 months. They should be soaked in boiling water before use so that they become soft and moist. They can be added to salads, soups and stews. They can be prepared as a curry and or as a vegetable with some chopped onions, tomatoes and carrots.

Description

Soyabean chunks are soy nuggets prepared from defatted Soya flour by the process of extrusion cooking. The raw chunks are tasteless and odourless. They are firm, brown in color with rough texture. Soyabean chunks are known for their goodness of protein. They can be boiled and prepared as a salad or added to vegetable and curries.

Note

Soybean chunks contain estrogen-mimicking compounds that can develop a hormonal imbalance in men, if consumed excessively. They have antithyroid compounds that may disrupt the activity of the thyroid gland and result in goitre.(2)
