Description
Black tea is prepared from the leaves of the shrub Camellia sinensis. It is more oxidized than green, oolong, and white teas. Whole Leaf Black tea is black tea primarily made up of whole, unbroken tea leaves(unlike regular processed black tea of even sized broken leaves). The leaves undergo oxidation process that turns the leaves from green to a dark brownish-black color. Oxidation process involves exposing leaves to moist, oxygen-rich air. These leaves are then steeped in hot water to prepare black tea. Whole leaf black tea is considered to be of highest quality as they are produced with little or no alteration to the tea leaf.
