Usage Tips

  1. Always refrigerate sprouts at 5 degrees or below and use within two days of purchase .Avoid those sprouts that have turned brown, have wilted or smell musty. Store sprouts away from raw meats or seafood to prevent bacteria from the meat or seafood from contaminating the sprouts.
  2. Bean sprouts can be eaten raw, fried and blanched. They can be used in salads, soups, sandwiches, in stir-fries, fried rice, spring rolls and various soups.

Description

Bean Sprouts refer to the germinating forms of beans. Tender shoots called sprouts, protude from the beans on germination and are edible. Sprouting is done in a warm, moist environment. They are mostly used in Asian cuisine and can be made from many varieties of beans or seeds like mung beans, soyabeans, alfaalfa, chickpeas, mustard, peanuts, green peas, sunflower seeds, wheatgrass kernels, beetroot, broccoli, fenugreek, radish, garlic chive, chinese cabbbage, onion seed and red cabbage. They are widely available all through the year.
