Description
Corn syrup is glucose polymers – long chains of glucose linked together – derived from corn. When corn syrup is dehydrated until most of the water has been removed, corn syrup solids are obtained. Corn syrup solids are made from concentrating corn syrup to less than 10 percent water. It is widely used to make foods that would be hard to make with liquid sweeteners, such as powdered coffee creamers, powdered drink mixes and dry baby formula. Corn syrup solids are very different from high fructose corn syrup as corn syrup solids are in a powder form and not as sweet whereas HFCS(High fructose corn syrup) is a liquid.
