Description
What is dry ribbon fish?
Ribbonfish are a unique type of fishes with elongated and narrow bodies that resemble a ribbon. They generally live in the open sea rather than shallow regions of the coastal waters. Ribbonfish are rarely seen and when they are spotted they are easily recognizable by their slender, stretched-out bodies with a long dorsal fin, running down the whole length of the back, from behind the head. They do not have scales and their pectoral fins are small. These fishes are mainly found in the northern coasts, Iceland, Scandinavia, Orkney, and Scotland.Â
