Description
Elbow macaroni is a hollow extruded elbow-shaped pasta. It is made with durum wheat and commonly cut in short lengths and curved. The curved shape is created by using different speeds of extrusion on opposite sides of the pasta tube as it comes out of the machine. Elbow macaroni is one of the most common tube pasta shapes. Elbow macaroni is typically used to in macaroni and cheese dishes but is also a popular choice for pasta salads.
