Description
French beans are thin, cylindrical shaped pods containing seeds within. They have a tender and delicate texture. The pods and seeds are eaten. The pods are a rich green while the seeds are lime green in colour and semi starchy in texture. If the pods are left to dry and become yellow then, they are known as haricot beans .They belong to the Fabaceae family.They come in many varieties of colours like green, yellow and purple. French beans have originated in America especially South and Central America.Then they were introduced to the European continent and later to other parts of the world.
