Description

Ginger Coffee is a famous traditional healthy coffee of Kerala made by brewing dry ginger with coffee powder. Dried ginger, black pepper, jeera, holy basil, etc, are used in this natural home remedy recipe. It is best served during early mornings and in the evenings to get rid of common cough and cold, and build a general immunity and helps in improving response and attention as well. To begin making ginger coffee at home, start by boiling water in a saucepan. Add in jaggery once the water is boiling and stir till it dissolves. Once the jaggery is dissolved, add in dry ginger powder, cumin seeds, coffee powder, black pepper, and boil for few minutes so that the brew is even and effective. Now add tulsi leaves and let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Once done add cardamom powder, a bit of salt, and switch off the heat. Strain the Chukku Kaapi into serving cups and serve hot.
