Usage Tips

  1. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose can be used as a multipurpose food ingredient to act as an emulsifier, stabilizer, thickener and anticaking agent. It can be used in sauces, frozen food, fruit syrups and ketchups. It can be used as a substitute for gluten in making all-oat and other grain breads. It trap air bubbles formed by the yeast in bread dough, causing the bread to rise.

Description

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose is a non-fermentable semi-synthetic dietary fibre, based on cellulose( the woody material produced by plants). It is a odourless, tasteless solid and is a slightly off-white to beige powder and can be formed into granules. It can be used as a food additive(E464) in the form of a stabilizer, emulsifier, thickening and suspending agent. It can also be used as an alternative to animal gelatin.
