Description

Pudina masala is a simple spice mix that has refreshing flavors. To make pudina masala, take 2 bunches of fresh mint leaves and rinse them thoroughly. On a cloth or newspaper spread the mint leaves and leave it to dry preferably in a place that gets a lot of sunlight. The mint leaves should turn very dry and easily break between your finger. In a grinder, turn the mint leaves into a coarse powder. In a hot pan take 1/2 cup of cumin seeds and dry roast the cumin seeds. The cumin seeds should become dark brown in color. This takes about 8-10 mins. Turn the roasted cumin seeds into a powder using a grinder. Now, in a big vessel pour the mint powder, cumin powder and also add 1/4 cup of black salt and 1/4 cup of regular salt. You can vary this quantity based on your liking. Mix everything well. Store the pudina masala in an airtight container and pour 1 teaspoon of this masala over Chaas (buttermilk) or juice.
