Look for spring onions with firm, crisp, rich green colored leaves, small, round and white bulbs at base. Avoid the ones that have yellowed or wilted tops.

Description
Spring Onion is a variety of young onions with white base that has not fully developed into a bulb and long green stalks or leaves. It has hollow, tubular green leaves that grow directly from the bulb. Both the green and white part are edible and are used as vegetables. They are quite popular in Asian cuisines. In comparison to scallions and green onions they are more mature.
