It is recommended to make tomato paste with fresh tomatoes at home. When buying in packaged form, check for the manufacturing and expiration date on its packaging to make sure it has not expired. Avoid if it has a layer of mould on the top.

Description
Tomato paste is a thick, brownish-red paste prepared by cooking tomatoes for hours until a thick, rich concentrate is obtained. The seeds and skin are sieved in the middle of the cooking before the water content is reduced and it turns thick.
