Description

Vitamins are a group of substances which are needed for normal cell function, growth, and development. There are 13 important vitamins which are required for the body to work properly. They are grouped into two categories, Fat-soluble vitamins and Water-soluble vitamins. Fat-soluble are stored in the body's fatty tissue. There are four fat-soluble vitamins which are vitamins A, D, E, and K. These vitamins are absorbed more simply by the body in the presence of dietary fat. There are nine water-soluble vitamins which are Vitamin C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B12, and Folate (folic acid and B9). A varied diet is a good source of vitamins.
