Description
Whole moong dal sprout refers to whole moong beans, which have been sprouted. Sprouting is basically a process where seeds and legumes are germinated and eventually eaten raw. When seeds are soaked in water for a certain period of time, they germinate, causing their outer layers to tear open and allowing a young shoot to blossom. Sprouted grains, legumes and beans are believed to be very nutritious and healthy. Sprouting of moong beans is a step by step process first the moong beans have to be sorted to remove stones, washed, and then soaked in water for 6-8 hours. After it has been soaked well for a long time the water is drained and the beans are left by wrapping it in a muslin cloth for a day or two. When the bean sprouts have developed short shoots, they are ready to eat. Moong sprouts are very refreshing, and considered as a wonder food. They are very healthy, nutritious and rich in enzymes, minerals and vitamins and are very easy to digest. The sprouted bean is more nutritious than the original bean.
