Bhakarwadi Recipe

Bhakarwadi is a delicious sweet and spicy crispy snack. These refined and gram flour dough spirals are filled with a sweet-spicy mixture of coconut, poppy seeds and sesame seeds and then deep fried till crisp. Making them is a little time consuming but you can store them in an airtight container for a couple of days.

Ingredients For Bhakarwadi Recipe

Methods
  • 1. To make the perfect Bhakarwadi, take 2 cups of all-purpose flour on a wide plate.
  • 2. Add 3 tbsp of gram flour, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of carom seeds, and mix everything well.
  • 3. Add 4 tbsp of oil and mix well with your hands.
  • 4. Add water in batches and prepare a semi-soft dough.Next step – cover the dough and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • 5. Place a pan on flame, add 1 tbsp of cumin seeds, 2 tbsp of coriander seeds, 1/5 tbsp of sesame seeds, 2 tbsp of fennel seeds, and 2 tbsp of desiccated coconut, and roast well on low flame. And Add peanut,Roast for 4 minutes on low heat. Add cupfter the mix turns aromatic, turn off the flame and transfer the pan to the platform.
  • 6. Add 2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp of asafoetida, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp of ginger powder, and 1.5 tsp of salt, and mix everything well.
  • 7. Take a grinding jar, add prepared masala, 3 tbsp of sugar, and make a coarse powder.Next step – check the dough, sprinkle some oil, and knead well.
  • 8. Prepare small balls with the dough.take a ball, roll it to medium thick Roti and cut it into a squire shape.
  • 9. Apply tamarind chutney on the prepared Roti and do not spread the chutney till the end. Sprinkle Prepared Masala and gently roll it with the help of a roller pin.
  • 10. Apply some water on the edges.tightly roll the Roti and seal the edges well.
  • 11. Cut the roll into small pieces.prepare the Bakharwadi with the remaining dough and masala and let them dry for 5 minutes.
  • 12. Place a pan on flame, add oil for frying, and heat well. After the oil is hot, add prepared Bakharwadi into the oil and fry well on low to medium flame until golden and crispy.
  • 13. After the Bakharwadi turns golden and crispy, transfer them to a plate and fry the next batch.Now, your perfect Bakharwadi is completely ready, and you can enjoy it.
