Sweets Cheela is one of those sweet snacks that you make when you don’t want to cook anything. Since it’s made with whole wheat flour, it’s pretty hearty and very satisfying. And I love the fact that it does not need too many ingredients.
1.
Put jaggery in a pan with 3 cup water and let it boil. Once the jaggery dissolves completely, let it cook for a while on low flame. Turn off the flame and let it cool.Sieve it. Keep it aside
2.
Sieve the flour in a bowl. Put the sieved jaggery water into the flour and mix well. Make sure that no lumps are formed in the batter. Add Cardamom powder and mix well. Leave the batter for 20 minutes to set.
3.
Place a pan over medium flame, pour 2-3 drops of ghee on the pan and then wipe it with a cloth. Take 2 tablespoon of batter and spread it on the pan .Add 1 tspn ghee on the cheela, and let it cook on low flame.
4.
Once the upper surface turns dark brown and the lower surface turns light brown in colour, flip the cheela.
5.
Once the cheela is cooked from both the sides, keep it over a napkin spread on the plate. Serve hot. Garnish with poppy seeds, rose petals, almonds pistachios.
