Basa Malai Kebabs Recipe

A very healthy recipe as no deep frying is involved. Basa is a good source of protein and essential omega fatty acid which is useful for the health of heart and controls cholesterol level. The usage of cheese adds to the benefits of calcium, protein and iron. Overall, the recipe is a healthier and lighter version of mouth melting fish kebabs.

Ingredients For Basa Malai Kebabs Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Wash and pat dry fish fillet pieces.
  • 2. Mix with vinegar or lemon juice, chat masala powder, black pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste and 4 tablespoons of melted butter and put aside for an hour.
  • 3. In another bowl , mix cashew paste, fresh cream grated cheese some salt and the rest of the butter and beat well.
  • 4. Now put an aluminium sheet and cut it into medium sized pieces to wrap the kebabs. On each sheet place the marinated fish at the centre and top it with the mixture of cashew paste and fresh cream generously and sprinkle some chopped green chilies at last and then wrap it well inside the aluminium foil. Do the same with all the fish fillets and keep aside.
  • 5. Brush the fry pan with little amount of butter and place the marinated fish fillets wrapped in aluminium foil and shallow fry each side for 5 to 6 minutes at a medium flame.
  • 6. Serve hot with chaat masala, onion rings and some green chutney.
