Mung Bean and Meat Samosas Recipe

Mung bean or cherupyre as we call and minced meat in samosa is something I would have never imagined. But it is one of Saudi style samosa and a must-try.

You can make this all moong dal or all ground meat or any ratio of both ,If you freeze, do not thaw.

Ingredients For Mung Bean and Meat Samosas Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Heat oil in a pan on medium to high flame.
  • 2. Saute onions and onion part of the spring onions until translucent.
  • 3. Add the ground meat and stir on high flame until browned.
  • 4. Reduce the flame to medium and stir in the cooked mung beans.
  • 5. Half of the chopped spring onions.
  • 6. Salt and all of the spices.
  • 7. Cover and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
  • 8. Open and ensure there is no liquid or too much moisture.
  • 9. If there is open and cook until they dry up.
  • 10. Switch off and stir in the remaining chopped leaves.
  • 11. Let it cool completely before you can start wrapping the samosas.
  • 12. Next stuff each samosa sheet with one tablespoon and a little more of the filling and fold into triangles making sure to seal the ends with some flour paste.
  • 13. Deep fry the samosa triangles in enough oil turning sides till golden brown. Or you may bake the samosas by brushing both sides of the samosas with any oil and bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes on each side at 200℃.
