Recipe Notes

If you do not have a steamer basket, do this whole process in a normal pan, but make sure NOT to add a large amount of water since it doesn't take long for the fish to cook.

Ingredients For Crispy Fish Fried Rice Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Wash the rice and keep aside.
  • 2. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick deep skillet and fry the whole garam masala.
  • 3. Add rice and fry again for a minute.
  • 4. Add water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cook rice till it is fully done.
  • 5. Fill a steamer pan to the required level with water.
  • 6. To the water, add black pepper powder, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste and salt.
  • 7. Bring the steamer pan to a boil.
  • 8. Lower the heat to medium.
  • 9. Place the pieces of fish in the steamer basket and lower the basket into the basket.
  • 10. Cover and steam till the fish turns opaque, do not over cook.
  • 11. Remove and allow the fish to cool.
  • 12. Add the coriander leaves, 2 green chillies, ginger garlic paste and grated coconut in a blender and make a thick paste adding 1 tbsp water.
  • 13. Boil the peas, do not over cook, it should retain its green colour.
  • 14. In a non-stick deep skillet, heat oil, add onion and fry till translucent, add the garam masala powder, add carrots, cook for a minute.
  • 15. Add the prepared fish.
  • 16. Then add the cooked rice and coconut paste
  • 17. Mix it thoroughly with the vegetables and fish.
  • 18. Add 1 tbsp lemon juice, cover and cook on low flame for not more than 2-3 minutes until all the flavors blend in.
