Rawa Podi Masala Idli Recipe

Idli is a very famous breakfast in southern india, idlis m by steaming a batter of soaked lentils and rice ,and also can be made with rawa or sooji also. I always prefer to made with rawa as its healthier then lentil and rice idli. Goes well with sambhar and chutney , but if you dont have time make all these then make it with podi masala .you will love it definitely .

Ingredients For Rawa Podi Masala Idli Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a mixing bowl add rawa, curd and water, and make thick batter of it and keep it aside for 10 minutes
  • 2. Now start making podi masala, heat oil in a pan
  • 3. Add chana daal, urad dal, dry red chillies, garlic cloves,cumin, and corriender seeds and dry roast all for few seconds
  • 4. Next add turmeric and salt and mix it well together and let it cool
  • 5. Meantime add salt and oil to the idli batter and mix it well
  • 6. Add baking soda and pour 2 tbsp of hot water on the soda to rise it quickly
  • 7. Now make idlis with a gresed idli mould in the steamer for about 10-12 minutes
  • 8. While idlis are in steamer we will make our podi masla
  • 9. For this take the spices we roast , in a grinder jar, and grind them on pulse mode
  • 10. Now check the idlis with toothpick, if it comes out clean, it's done
  • 11. Demould the idlis, sprinkle podi masala on it, according to taste, and serve
