Ingredients For Colourful dabeli bread recipe

Methods
  • 1. Dry roast the first 5 ingredients till fragrant. Once cool powder it. This is our dhabeli masala powder.
  • 2. Starting from tamarind pulp Add all ingredients to a bowl till cumin powder. Add water & salt as required.Bring to boil. Simmer for 2 min.Turn off heat.
  • 3. Starting from 5 red chillies to cumin seeds transfer to a grinding jarAdd salt & warm water.Grind to a fine paste.
  • 4. Heat oil in a pan.Sizzle cumin, add chopped onion. Fry till translucent. Add hing , dhabeli powder, salt ,tamarind chutney, coriander powder & red chilli powder. Give a good mix. Add boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes. Mix well.Stir for 2 min.Turn off heat.
  • 5. Mix 0.5 cup chiroti rawa, 0.5 tsp instant yeast , 0.5 tsp sugar & 1 tsp oil & turmeric 0.5 tsp a bowl. Add water little by little & make a soft dough.Knead for about 10 min.Transfer to a greased container. Keep covered till it rises to double.
  • 6. In another bowl, mix 0.5 cup rawa, 0.5 tsp instant yeast , 0.5 tsp salt , 1 tsp oil , palak puree. Knead for 10 to 12 min.Keep covered in a box till it rises to double.
  • 7. In another bowl, mix 0.5 cup rawa, 0.5 tsp instant yeast , 0.5 tsp salt , 1 tsp oil , beetroot puree. Knead for 10 to 12 min.Keep covered in a box till it rises to double.
  • 8. Punch down all three doughs once they rise.Gently knead once.Roll them into slightly thick sheet of oblong shape.
  • 9. Drizzle on each of them a tsp of oil & both chutneys as required.Spread well.Now spread stuffing made o each of them.Roll gently into log.
  • 10. Now slit each long into 2 parts.Place one part from each side by side.Pinch together the ends.
  • 11. And start making braids just like you make with hair.Lift gently & place on a baking tray.Repeat the process with remaining slit parts too.
  • 12. Let them rise again.Pre heat otg at 190°C for 10 min.Slide in the tray.Bake for about 30 to 40 min.
  • 13. Once done top the dhabeli braids with sev, pomegranate arils , coriander leaves. Cut and serve.
