Ingredients For DALIA IDLI RECIPE

Methods
  • 1. Grind dalia in a grinder till it is powdered. It will not be like a fine powder but will be grainy.
  • 2. Take it out in a bowl and mix salt. Mix well.
  • 3. Now add curd and mix well. Let it sit for 5 mins. Now add water to make a thick batter. The batter should not be too thick.
  • 4. Now add carrots and coriander leaves and mix well.
  • 5. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let it sizzle for a min, add urad dal and let it sizzle. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
  • 6. Mix this tempering with the idli batter. Add water if needed.
  • 7. Now add baking soda and mix well. Let it sit for 5 mins.
  • 8. Grease idli stand with oil. Pour a spoonful of batter in the idli stand and steam it for 10 min.
  • 9. After 10 mins let it sit in the steamer for 2 min. Now remove it from the steamer and let it cool for 5 mins.Serve with sambhar or chutney.
