Ingredients For Lentil Cake Curry Recipe

Methods
  • 1. First, soak chana dal overnight or for at least 3-4 hours.
  • 2. Make a smooth and thick paste of dal by blending it in a blender.
  • 3. Take a deep pan and heat oil. Fry the paste at low flame.
  • 4. Add 1tsp of cumin, ginger and red chilli powder each. Add salt and crushed peanuts.
  • 5. Now take a big plate and grease it with oil. While the paste is hot, pour and flatten it.
  • 6. Cut the lentil paste into square and diamond shapes with the help of a knife.
  • 7. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the lentil cakes. Keep aside.
  • 8. Then fry the potato cubes and keep aside.
  • 9. In the same pan, heat mustard oil and crackle cumin seeds and bayleaf. Add remaining ginger and red chilli powder with half a cup of water.
  • 10. Saute and add fried potato cubes. Let the potatoes become tender then add the fried lentil cakes.
  • 11. Cook it for a few minutes. Add garam masala and ghee.
  • 12. Lentil cake curry is ready. Serve it with steamed rice.
