Soak the brown rice with enough water for an hour and then dry it in open air.

Dry roast the rice then. Then take it in a mixing jar and make it's powder.

Boil the milk then with jaggery powder. Add desiccated coconut. Add rice powder then. Don't add all the powder at a time. Mix it slowly otherwise it will make lump.

Stir it constantly and cook it in low flame. When it will start to leave the sides of the pan then switch off the flame.

Take out half portion of the mixture from the pan. Add beetroot juice with other portion for colour. This step is optional.

Now grease a square shaped tin and pour one portion of barfi in it. Spread it with spatula. Put walnut on it and spread another mixture (red colour mixture) over it.
7.
Sprinkle desicatted coconut on it and keep it in fridge.
