Matar Kachori Recipe

This is a popular dish of UP. As the winter season starts, fresh green peas come in the market. Crispy kachori of green peas is very tasty. It is full of nutritious elements. I have given these kachoris the shape of gujiya.

Dough should not be so soft or hard. Don’t fry the kachori on high flame.

Ingredients For Matar Kachori Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Boil the peeled peas in a pot with water for 1-2 minutes . Drain it and separate it from the water.
  • 2. When the peas cool down, grind them coarsely with ginger and chillies in the mixer jar.
  • 3. Heat the oil in the pan. Add cumin and asafoetida to it first. When the cumin seeds turn brown, add the ground peas to it. Fry it for 3 to 4 minutes. Then mix all the dry spices in it, also fry it for 1 to 2 minutes. The stuffing is ready. Keep it on one side to cool down.
  • 4. Add maida, wheat flour, salt and moyan oil in a large pot and mix it well with your hands. Add water little by little, and knead a soft dough. Let it set for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 5. Divide the dough evenly into small portions , roll small puris from it.
  • 6. Apply flour solution around the puri, place the stuffing in the centre and hold the puri in half. Press it well with your hands and make a design with the help of a fork. In this way prepare pea kachoris in shape of gujiya.
  • 7. Add oil to the pan and heat it. Fry these kachoris on a slow medium flame till they get golden crisp on both the sides.
