Ingredients For Millet Kheer Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Wash and soak millet in water for 2hours. Drain extra water. Keep aside.
  • 2. In pan make jaggery syrup, take jaggery powder and water. Mix well until jaggery dissolve completely. Keep aside.
  • 3. In kadhai, heat clarified butter, fry dryfruits in it for minute. Takeout into a plate. When it cool completely. Chop it.
  • 4. In same ghee, fry soaked millet for 3minutes.
  • 5. Now boil the milk into a heavy bottom pan keep it on medium heat. Once the milk comes to a boil, add millet and saffron strands to the milk.
  • 6. Simmer the kheer until the foxtail millet cooks comletely. This will take about 10 to 15 minutes. (You will have to take a bite to check)
  • 7. Once the foxtail millet has cooked through completely, add jaggery syrup and simmer for another 10 minutes, stirring occationally so the milk does not condense and settle to the bottom.
  • 8. Add dryfruits, mix it. Turn off the heat and the millet kheer is now ready to be served. Serve this kheer hot.
