TRICOLOUR POHA PHIRNI CAKE RECIPE

Phirni is a wonderful creamy dessert prepared with rice but I have prepared this sweet dish by giving it a little twist and by adding poha and other rich ingredients which make this recipe rich source of iron and protein. The speciality of this phirni cake is that it is made form all the ingredients that are easily available in home.

Ingredients For TRICOLOUR POHA PHIRNI CAKE RECIPE

Methods
  • 1. 1. First of all blanch almonds and pistachio in different bowl in warm water for 30 minutes.
  • 2. 2. Turn on the stove. Dry roast the poha in a pan and as it cools down crush it coarsely. Now in another pan take milk heat it till one boil then in this add sugar, milk powder stir this gradually. Then add condensed milk to it give this a boil. Then in this add crushed poha.
  • 3. 3. Stir this continuously. As it start getting thick turn off the stove. Cool it on room temperature. Divide this mixture in three parts in three different bowls.
  • 4. 4. Now for the first orange part. In one part add saffron milk ( saffron strands soaked in milk) and cardamom powder. Orange part is ready.
  • 5. 5. Now for the white part. Prepare a paste of blanch almonds and add this to the White part.
  • 6. 6. Now for the last green part. Prepare a paste of blanch pistachio and add in the mixture. Green part is also ready.
  • 7. 7. As all the parts are ready. For assembling take a ring mould first add the green part. Keep it in fridge to set it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes later the white part. Keep in fridge again. Now at last layer the orange part and set the cake for more 10 minutes in the fridge.
  • 8. 8. Tricolour poha phirni cake is ready garnish it with saffron stands and blanched almonds.
